Warning Sirens
When a tornado is spotted by the Gridley E.S.D.A. and the Gridley area is in its path, then E.S.D.A. will sound the siren for one steady blast. This will be done each time a tornado is spotted. The steady blast means "take cover immediately, a tornado is approaching"
It is advised to have a battery-powered radio, National Weather Service radio, or T.V. to listen to details when the electricity is off.
On the first Tuesday of each month at 10:00 a.m. you will also hear a siren. This is because the tornado siren is tested on the first Tuesday of each month at 10:00 a.m. unless severe weather is in the area.
